HINOTORI, the Urban Nun Zendo, is an independent spiritual space, organised on a non-profit and non-discriminatory basis.  It offers spiritual practice and social programs through three different project lines: Spiritual, Applied, Engaged.  It is founded by Doka Sensei (ordained in Soto Zen and Shaolin Chan linages).  Zendo is funded solely by tuition, donations and memberships.

 

The Practicing Member Program is intended for those who trust in Doka Sensei's vision and wish to contribute to evolution of their own and global consciousness. There are no formal requirements to become a practicing member, with the exception of general Zendo's guidelines.  This is a great way to bring wisdom and Dharma into your daily life and to support the work of Doka Sensei and Hinotori Zendo.

 

In line with the ancient practice of Dana paramita, the members support Hinotori, the Urban Nun Zendo, with contributions ranging from CHF20 to CHF40 / month. The membership fees go directly to day-to-day operation, the support of the teacher and social initiatives. 

 

Doka Sensei is highly grateful for the generosity of the students and members, without which the practice and social engagements would not be possible.  Only through human kindness and trust can this work be continued.
