Service Description

The class is intended for those who want to practice Zen meditation, but as a way to achieve inner peace and higher level of mindfulness. The class includes Zen meditation and a conversation with the Sensei. Zen meditation itself follows the essential principles of the Zen Way (body, breath, mind) and takes place in silence. The conversation period that follows is adapted to the needs of practitioners and covers questions about practice, and instructions about the Zen application in everyday life. REQUIREMENTS: • Registration - no entry without prior registration • Punctuality - arrive 10 - 15' before the start of the practice to prepare in peace; the door is locked 5' before the start of the class and late practitioners cannot enter • Skillful communication – silence at all time, no idle talk, posing questions only during Q&A period, or after class • Clean socks - prepare clean socks for the Zendo; it is forbidden to walk on the tatami with bare feet, in shoes or with dirty socks (unlike the usual Zendo where you practice barefoot, the Zendo in Hinotori An follows the rules of the Chado room to protect the tatami floor) • Attire - to ensure painless sitting and preserve the atmosphere of a temple, attire should be loose-fitting (no jeans, or leather pants), in calm colors (preferable dark); watches and jingling jewelry must be removed; strong smells must be avoided. • Mobile phones - need to be turned off completely or set on Airplane Mode (Silent Mode is not allowed) Schedule: Wed, Thu /17:45 – 18:45 // Fri / 20:00 – 21:00 Participants: 4 Duration: 60' Teaching tuition: 0 CHF
